Curriculum
We pull from many sources to find the best mix of curriculum to fit each classroom.
The Bible is our main source for all instructions. We believe the Word of God provides all we need to live a Godly lifestyle. We like to simplify lessons for our Seeds & Sprouts classrooms, then as they advance to our Oaks & Forest classrooms they grow in knowledge and understanding, and finally dig deep into theology and faith-building in our Harvest classroom.
We listen. Our parents and students get to tell us what is working and what isn't working. We don't believe in cookie-cutter learning. We believe each student should excel in academics at their pace while we set aside dedicated time to form a relationship with God.
We don't believe in homework. There is plenty of time each day for a student to master their education. If a student wants to get ahead, they are encouraged (not required) to do so. In fact, when it's available, we believe students should begin to achieve college class credits as soon as they are able.
Our curriculum blends various methods, known as "Eclectic" style, borrowing from Charlotte Mason, Unit Studies, and Traditional. This method allows us to to adapt to the needs of children while progressing them academically. Each child's learning path is individual, we start them with their peers, at their unique academic level allowing them to achieve more and ensuring no gaps in education and socializing.
We offer a full range of lessons: Language Arts (Grammar, Reading, Writing); Math; Science; Foreign Language; Bible; Outdoor-time/PE (instructive play); Music; Art; Cooking; Lab Experiments; Robotics; Life Skills; Character Development; Health; Computer; Citizenship (aka Civics/History/Social Studies); Theology (not just what we believe, but why); Financial Literacy; and Critical Thinking
Upper Classrooms also get a chance to work on special electives, such as: 4- H; STEM; Agriculture; Healthy Living; Civic Engagement; Fine & Performing Arts; Computer Science; Web Design; Culinary Arts; Coding/Programming; Business Acumen; Public Speaking | Speech | Debate; Teaching; Journalism; YearBook; Band; Choir
